Welcome! My name is Andre R. Marseille, a licensed professional counselor specializing in helping people live more fulfilling and purposeful lives by finding their life balance. Life involves many complex issues and transitions that one must contend with including: life and death, fulfillment, happiness, sadness & connection amongst others. My overall goal is to help people learn how to thrive in life rather than merely survive it. As an existentialist, I truly see my life purpose as helping others find theirs. I enjoy helping people realize their own agency and use it to find meaning and build confidence. To help people find meaning and purpose in their in lives, we explore three critical elements together (1) meaning, (2) legacy (3) forgiveness.

I have served clients in the DC metro area over the last ten years, and though I recently started my own practice. It is one built on the pillars of professionalism, cross-culturalism, social justice and advocacy, intellectual vigor, and pragmatic counsel.

With SafePaces, my goal is to create therapatuic environment that feels safe for clients to fine life balance by working through past hurts, making sense of their present and ongoing struggles, and visualizing a more fulfilling future. I believe the quality of the counselor/client relationship is the most powerful therapeutic tool. It must be built on trust, authenticity and honesty. I have a humanistic approach to therapy and life. I am a social advocate, encourager and  supporter by nature. I do not pass judgement, rather, it is my goal to help clients see their own challenges and success from the perspective that brings them the most insight, purpose and fulfillment.

Personal Note

On a personal note, I enjoy reading and writing both academically and fiction. I love teaching. I also love traveling internationally and experiencing and studying different cultures. I am a runner and a Chicago Bulls fan.  I love frequenting farmers markets and by art pieces from local artist. I am an animal lover and do believe in climate change. I am a die-hard coffee lover and drinker (x2 a day). I see social media as a way to connect to people, not as a means to validate my importance.
